How to play "One Giant chickeN"
*** These numbers and $ amounts are just for reference. Values can be adjusted to meet your needs
Before playing you will need:
a.) A list of bars/pubs/restaurants in the vicinity that serve alcohol
b.) A chicken costume (preferably one that can fit most players)
c.) An enthusiastic group of ~20-30 players
1.) Each player will pay an entrance fee. Half of their admission will go towards the "Chicken Pot", the other half towards the donation pot (ex:// $30 - $15 to the pot & $15 donated)
2.) Names will be randomly drawn to form teams until there is only one left. The undrawn player will be ... your ONE GIANT CHICKEN. They will have the honor of sporting your magnificent chicken costume
3.) The chicken should then leave the pregame location with its pot of money and find itself a spot at one of the pre-designated bars
- A chosen venue cannot have an entry fee and should not primarily serve food
4.) Once settled in, the chicken can begin drinking through the pot of money. If asked why he/she is wearing a chicken costume, the immediate response must be “What chicken costume?”
- Stick to beers/well drinks to help make the "Chicken pot" last, thus allowing others to eventually join
5.) After 30-45 minutes, all teams should depart from the pregame location in search of their fowl friend by checking into various bars
6.) For each bar checked, a searching team cannot move on to another location until everyone on the team has had a drink (assistance in finishing drinks is permitted - please drink responsibly!)
- Peering through windows DOES count as checking a pub!
7.) Once a team finds the chicken, they can join the party and help use whatever remains of the "Chicken Pot"
8.) The chicken can choose to give out clues at any point via text or social media. We recommend sending out clues that progressively get easier to decipher every 45 minutes, allowing teams to narrow their search over time.
9.) The game may end when all search parties have rejoined with the One Giant Chicken!!!
HOW TO INCREASE THE DONATION POT

1.) Entrance Fee
As stated in the rules, each player will pay an entrance fee. Half of their admission will go towards the "Chicken Pot", the other half towards the donation pot (ex:// $30 - $15 to the pot & $15 donated)
2.) Withdrawing From the Chicken Selection
There's no shame in not wanting to be the chicken ... well, maybe a little bit. Still, any player that chooses to opt out of being in the One Giant Chicken selection can do so by contributing an additional amount to the "Donation Pot" (ex:// ~$10 per head)
- Any player choosing to withdraw from the selection will be the "original" selection for each team. This player's teammates can then be drawn at random from the remaining names
3.) "Pairing Up" or Pre-selecting Teams
If you'd prefer to be with another person, you can also opt out of being in the OGC selection. Any players who decide to "pair up" will also be expected to contribute to the "Donation Pot" (ex:// $10 per head)
- Similar to opting out of being chicken, any predetermined pair/team can act as the "original" selection for each team. Any additional teammates (if necessary) can then be drawn at random from the remaining names
4.) Chicken Scraps
We recommend that the Chicken carries around their own donation pot. People love asking about the chicken costume and often will happily contribute. When asked about the chicken costume, after responding with the obligatory "What Chicken Costume?", it couldn't hurt to ask if they'd like to contribute to the cause for which you are fundraising!
5.) Ask around!
The game is extremely entertaining, even to an outside party. Post what you're doing on social media and see if anyone wants to contribute to the donation pot. There are more people looking for a good cause to support than you might think!
